This website belongs to the world. It is a virtual palliative care community.
Join our Palliative Care Community! http://www.palliativeak.org is hosting the 2nd annual international telehealth palliative care symposium. It originates from the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) in Anchorage Alaska. ANTHC manages and operates programs and services for Alaska's indigenous population through an Alaska Native elected board.
The speakers on the site represent only a few of the many experienced palliative care leaders around the world. This year we offer the opportunity to learn from palliative care experts from 4 countries and 12 sites. This year, we hope that many more people intererested in palliative care will join the conference through webstreaming.
During the 2009 symposium we learned many things and are building on our experiences. This year we are offering connections to the symposium via webcast only. Telehealth or VTC connections are limited to the speakers.
While it is not possible for speakers to respond to questions during their presentation, we have set up a way for you to submit questions whether you are in a room with the speaker through the web. Click on the agenda topic for which you wish to ask a question. Make sure you have signed into the site and type in your question under comment. Our speakers have committed to posting an answer to the question for all registrants to see by the next morning.
Please join our virtual palliative care community through our own palliative care group--"International Palliative Care Symposium" on Facebook. Please share comments, pose and/or offer answers to issues or concerns and offer suggested resources.
